The 2025 Jubilee Year, themed "Pilgrims of Hope," is a Catholic celebration that enables spiritual renewal and hope for the future. It's a time for Catholics to embark on pilgrimages, seek forgiveness, and deepen their relationship with God.
What an absolute privilege it was to travel with Archbishop Christopher, Fr Eden and the other pilgrims to Italy, praying together as we walked through Holy Doors, celebrating prayer and mass at many beautiful basilcas and cathedrals, including St Peter's Basilica, and learning about St Catherine of Siena as we journeyed through many sacred places.
This pilgrimage was a wonderful opportunity to journey with a beautiful group, praying, celebrating, spending time with each other and with God and journeying together in hope. We all need hope, that little spark that keeps us going even when things are tough, that feeling of confident expectation and assurance about the future, grounded in God's love and promise.
This pilgrimage was a chance for us to be renewed in, the hope of Christ—a hope that does not disappoint. We are extremely grateful for this amazing opportunity!
BARRANDHANG (Kinder/Yr 1)
At the end of last term, the K/1 students began exploring weather and various weather concepts. Over the last two weeks, we revisited some of the different types of weather we studied last term and discussed what we already know about them. After our discussion, the students completed two worksheets, drawing their interpretations of different weather phenomena such as cloudy, raining, snowing, sunny, and lightning.
Dinawan (Year 2/3)
Welcome back to Term 3! A very big thank you to Ms Wheeler for teaching 2/3 for the last 4 weeks of Term 2.
Year 3 are focusing on the book "Finding our Heart". Finding our heart, by Thomas Mayor with illustrations by Blak Douglas, encourages us all to understand the past so that we can create a shared future. We are learning about the Uluru Statement of the Heart and learning to write a personal response.
We are also completing the Chemistry unit in Science where we are learning about Solids, Liquids and Gases and all about these different states of matter. We are learning about the water cycle, and how heat energy and the removing of energy changes the state of matter.
Homework went home this week, thank you to all the families that help and support the completion of homework. It would be great if there could be a focus on Home Reading this term - the more children read the better they are at all areas of learning.
Bidyin (Year 4/5/6)
To kick off our literacy learning this term, the students participated in a fun revision activity. Each student had a turn to lucky dip from a bowl of literacy devices and terms, then created a revision poster to explain their chosen concept. It was a great way to refresh their memories and showcase what they remembered from last term.
Each term, we focus on a different novel as part of our literacy block. In Term 1, we read War Horse. In Term 2, we explored two short novels: The Black Cockatoo and Dirrarn. Now, in Term 3, we have begun reading Convict Boy, a historical novel that follows the journey of a convict named Thomas, jumping between past and present timelines.
We’ve also reintroduced 10 minutes of free reading at the start of each literacy lesson—by popular demand! During this time, students read a book of their own choice borrowed from the library. This reading is separate from our class novel and is designed to foster a love of reading.
Welcome to OT students, Miss Georgia and Miss Sarah

We would like to introduce Georgia Kirby and Sarah Blackwood, who are Charles Sturt University third year Occupational Therapy students. Georgia and Sarah will be undertaking work placement at St Francis Xavier Primary School from Tuesday 22nd July-Friday 5th September 2025 (7 weeks).
Georgia and Sarah will be participating in a service learning, project-based placement which involves developing a resource to support the school with an identified occupational therapy need. Whilst the placement focus is not delivering direct clinical services or assessment, there may be occasions where clinical assessment and interventions are carried out in consultation with qualified clinical supervisor, Cassandra Mullins.
