We are at the end of another challenging year for all and we have again worked extremely hard together to support each other on their learning journey. I would like to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge everyone who has supported our school throughout the year.
We have an amazing staff of teachers, classroom assistants, office workers and other general staff that spend so many more than the hours they are paid for to create a learning environment that helps all our students achieve successes in their learning as well as caring for their personal growth, spiritual growth and wellbeing. Each staff member has provided a listening ear, has been a mentor, a counsellor, a guide and a role model to all of our children while on their learning journey. Special thanks to Mrs Morris and Miss O’Brien for caring for the school during my LSL and a very big thank you to Nicole Wood for learning many new skills in the office while Mrs MacRae has been on leave this term.
Our school community also is made up of many dedicated and supportive families and friends, who have again this year raised significant funds that have been used to supply the school with additional resources. Thanks also to Fr. Dominic, we have really loved celebrating together in our School Liturgies on Fridays, these are really special! Together we have achieved many successes and worked to provide a safe and caring learning environment for all.
As we celebrate Advent, the time where we wait and look forward to the coming of Christ to Earth, let us remember what the Christmas season is all about. Christmas is the time for Love, Hope, Joy and Peace, a special time for us to enter into God's presence and to receive the gift of His Son, Jesus. As we teach our students, let all of our words and actions bring the love of God to our families and friends and to all those we meet.
As our year 6 students; Jayde, Max, Gus, Benji, Jimeal, Belle and Tiahla move on from Primary School life into their future paths we ask God to always be their guide. We thank them for the many gifts they have given to St Francis Xavier school community.
To celebrate the end of Primary schooling the Year 6 class have enjoyed a few special events this week. Year 6 enjoyed a fun day yesterday with Miss Nicole, Mrs Golding and Miss Kelly playing a couple of games of 10-pin Bowling. The first game was won by Miss Kelly, with Benji only 2 points behind! The second game was won by Max beating Jimeal by only 2 points!!!
Thanks heaps to Miss Nicole and Mrs Golding for transporting the students to Griffith.
As a school we celebrated with the Year 6 families last night, celebrating seven years of primary school – seven years of learning, friendships and growth, for our six Year 6 students, at the Year 6 Graduation Dinner. We have been blessed with the gift of each of these students within our school community and we thank God for the many blessings that they have shared with each of us.
Thank you to Mrs Rebecca Keeley for the Graduation cake - it looked amazing and tasted delicious. Thanks also to Georgina, Nicole and Amy for setting up the space for the meal!
Today in our Thanksgiving Mass we thanked God for each of them and we ask God to continue to guide and bless them as they journey on into High School.

An Advent Prayer of Praise for the Signs and Wonders of Christmas
“This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” - Luke 2:12
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. - Luke 2:20
Father,
We praise You for giving us signs and wonders! For communicating to us through prayer and miracles. Help us to see your hand in this world, Father. You are always with us, guiding us, providing for us, and embracing us in your perfect love. May we stay focused on you intently this Advent season and beyond, knowing and trusting in Your work in our lives. Help us see the everyday miracles of your presence and provision in our lives
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
