As we come to the end of the first term we have much to celebrate and be grateful for. Term One has provided our teaching team with many professional learning opportunities. I am extremely proud and feel so very blessed to be able to work with our amazing teaching team. They work tirelessly to support our students in so many ways each and every day.
There will be some new additions to our teaching team next term. We welcome Miss Ellie Shannon, who will team teach with Mrs Shaw on Year 1/2. Mrs Shaw will teach on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Miss Shannon will on Thursdays and Fridays.
Miss Anita Carter will be the Year 5/6 teacher on Fridays for the remainder of the year, team teaching with Miss Corcoran.
Mrs Sue MacRae will take Term 2 off on Long Service Leave. We wish Mrs MacRae an enjoyable term.
As we break for our holidays we celebrate in our church the most important seaon of the liturgical year. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, this weekend, which introduces Jesus as King of Israel. In the liturgy of Palm Sunday, we remember Jesus’ triamphant entry into Jerusalem.
Next week we celebrate Holy Thursday, the beginnings of the Eucharist. During the Mass, the priest re-enacts Jesus' washing the feet of his apostles at the Last Supper. This is a reminder that the Church is there to serve in the same way that Jesus took care of God's people.
Good Friday liturgy reminds us that Jesus died for our sake, even though he was without sin. It is a day of prayer and reflection when we remember in a special way Jesus' death on the cross.
The Easter Vigil Mass is the most majestic of all the Masses in the Church's year, when we celebrate Jesus' resurrection - his victory over death! It is a time of great joy.
May you take some time this Easter to celebrate with family and to remember God's love for us all.
Lord God,
You loved this world so much,
That you gave your one and only Son,
That we might be called your children too.
Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace
Of Easter Sunday, everyday.
Let us have hearts of thankfulness
For your sacrifice.
Let us have eyes that look upon
Your grace and rejoice in our salvation.
Help us to walk in that mighty grace
And tell your good news to the world.
All for your glory do we pray, Lord,
Amen.

Netball and Rugby Trials at Canberra
Sophie Phillips, Rose McFadyen, Amelia Smith, Tyrelle Thorpe, Jay Hayward and Tyson Kirby travelled to Canberra last Friday, 1st April, for Netball and Rugby League try outs.
Amelia, Rose and Sophie teamed up with girls from Temora to play netball. The girls played fantastic all day and ended up 2nd in their pool, played in semi finals. They came away runners up, losing by only 1 goal in the grand final.
Jay, Tyrelle and Tyson played well and made it into the possible and probables team. With Jay and Tyrelle making it into the Canberra/Goulburn Rugby League side, the boys will now try out for the MacKillip side in May. We wish the boys the best of luck in the next stage.
Congratulations to these studens for representing our school and a big thank you to our parents for transport and continuing to supporting our school.
Our school held its Cross Country last Wednesday, 30th March. Thank you to families that assisted in the Colour run part by splashing colour on the students as they approached the finish line. It was a fun filled event that was enjoyed by students, families and the team at SFX.

It was great to see students learning and skills on display. Kindergarten shared the song, 'This Little Light of Mine'. Year 1/2 showed some of the term's work items. Year 3/4 entertained by singing and sharing music to 'Fireflies', and Year 3/4 and 5/6 doing music and rhythm to 'We will Rock You'.
All students were again presented with their first round of Books in Home books. Our school has been the recipient of the Books in Home progrma for over 15 years now. Books in Home is a charitable foundation that provides books of choice to children living in remote, disadvantaged and low socio-economic circumstances, ensuring crucial early literacy engagement and the development of reading skills needed for lifelong achievement. As of 2020, and through the generous support of sponsors, donors and funding bodies, the tally stands at over 2.7 million books distributed across Australia through the Books in Home Program.

How to Speak to Kids about Covid 19 Vaccines
Start a conversation and listen to your child’s responses. Invite your child to share what they have heard about COVID-19 vaccines.
It’s important to listen to their responses and acknowledge any fears they have about being vaccinated.
For more information for families to support these conversations access the following attachment...
RAT testing before return to school Term 2
More RAT tests were hopefully picked up at school today so all students can be tested before return to school on Tuesday 26th April. If not Mrs Elwin will be at school on Thursday 21st April.
