Barrandhang (Kindergarten/Year 1)
Welcome to our Kindergarten /Year 1 Class of 2024!
InitiaLit is the program we use in our Infant classes and at the moment in our K/1 class we are learning to find words in sentences - visually and auditory. We are also learning about rhyming words and syllables. We are getting very clever at being able to hear and discover words that rhyme in stories and nursery rhymes, being able to break words into syllables - and put the word back together, and to know how many words are in sentences.
We are also learning in Science lessons that - 'All living things need Air, Food, Water and Shelter to survive. We had fun learning about air this week!
Homework - Homework folders went home again this week. If families can return folders on Fridays we will aim to resend them home again each Mondays. Thank you!

CMC Math is underway, all Dinawan have responded to the program with ease, and are progressing well.
Connecting Math Concepts (CMC) is a comprehensive mathematics curriculum developed by McGraw-Hill Education. It is designed to help students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and procedures through a structured and systematic approach. CMC focuses on
building students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills.
