Principal's Report
Half a term down already! It's wonderful to see how quickly our students have become comfortable and confident with the routines and expectations of school life. They continue to develop strong relationships with their teachers, classmates and school mates. Each class has established learning protocols, allowing students to know what to expect now and next. Staff have developed school-wide protocols. These protocols guide how students enter and exit environments, attention grabbers and signalling for Direct Instruction programs. The benefit of implementing protocols across the school provides consistency across groups and classes.
Students achieve better outcomes when families and teachers work together. We have had several opportunities already, where our families have demonstrated fantastic support of our students - WR Swimming, Girls AFL Trials, Canteen, Community and Interagency catering. Thank you to those families, we appreciate it very much.
Our School Community Council AGM will be held on Wednesday 13th March. The SCC is a great way for families to support and guide the direction of the school. SCC Fundraising has provided learning materials for all students, for over 15 years. This means that families are not required to provide stationary items at the start of the year. The SCC worked with the school to lobby for fee reduction, this is the second year families have benefitted from this hard work. One of the next focus areas is support the school with recruiting and retaining quality staff. The SCC is an essential part of our school. We invite you to attend the meeting and help set the next priorities. A huge shout out to our current SCC, for their support and commitment to the staff, students and families of our school.
There are several more opportunities for Families to be involved this term. The big ones include: Green Day, Infant & Primary Assemblies, School Masses, Holy Week Activities and The Colour Run. Please keep an eye out for information relating to each.
Interim Reports will be available on COMPASS on Friday 15th March. These reports provide brief feedback on Learning and Social Behaviours. Families may request a catch up after this date. Teachers may request a catch up on the report.
Here's to the rest of the term being happy, safe and productive!
