Principal's Report
A very big congratulations to our Kinder/1/2 students who led us through a beautiful liturgy last Friday. We know how much you practiced and how proud your teachers are. Our masses keep getting better - more singing, more praying and more families joining us each time. We are also pleased that more families are joining us for a cuppa before mass, please remember that morning tea on mass day begins at 10:45 and that the kettle is always on!
As part of our Registration preparation, we have reviewed our Supervision policy. The review has led to changes to our recess and lunch routines. As of this week, students will remain seated, under the COLA, for the first 15 minutes of both recess and lunch. This allows all students to finish their eating without rushing. Students will be reminded to take their hats and waterbottles with them, as rooms are out of bounds during recess and lunch. Once the 15 minutes is up, students will return their lunch containers, bin their rubbish and head out to play. These changes have been communicated to students.
As we head towards the end of Term 2, students will be participating in assessment tasks as Teachers begin to prepare reports. Once reports are received, families will be encouraged to meet with teachers to discuss progress. Family meetings are, tentatively, on the calendar for Monday and Tuesday in Week 10.
Many thanks to the School Community Council for their ongoing support. Well done for organising the canteen at the Small Schools Atheltics Carnival. It was a great success. The SCC plays an important part of setting future directions for the school. Please remember, nearly all, meetings are open and all families are welcome. If you would like more information or to add an item to the meeting agenda please contact Rebecca Keeley (Admin) or Kristy Brooks (Chair)
Our Leadership students received their Canberra Excursion information this week. Their first fundraiser is a Special Lunch Order - Spaghetti Bol and Garlic Bread. Please look out for the order form and support out students.
