Classroom Update
Barrandhang (Kinder/Year 1)
Bidyin (3/4)
In the lead up to this project, students were challenged to think about some of the big and little things that are 'awesome' to them. They created canva pages from these for us to build an 'awesome' wall in our classroom.
The 3-6 primary students have been focusing on 'gratitude' in their resilience project lessons this term. Last week, students were given a 'take it home' class project. The students were tasked with asking each of their family members to share their 'top 3 magical moments in their life' and why they make the top of their list. Students were encouraged to video record or write down the responses, to bring back to class. As a class, we are collaborating all our magic moments to create one special video that reflects gratitude. This activity was designed to build a habit of being thankful, encouraging this kind of positive talk and appreciation for the big and small things in their everyday life, beyond the classroom, with their families and friends. Many of the students were intrigued to discover that their parents all had very similar magic moments, such as getting married or simply meeting each other, and the birth of their children.
