Principal's Report
We are half way through Term 3 today and even though there have been changes to the way we celebrate and share together as a school community we have continued to learn and grow together.
Some of the special events that we have celebrated this term include Confirmation with our Year 5/6 students, Baptism for Maddie Jones, improved learning achievements for students and increased Professional Learning for Staff. We have also recognised the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross and welcomed new staff to our school family.
Our school was successful in receiving funding for 3 years to employ a Student Welfare Officer. This position was successfully filled at the beginning of this term with Nicole Wood and Emily Blacker sharing the position and working one day a week each, supporting students and families. Nicole and Emily will start sessions with students soon in the 'Seasons for Growth' program as well as supporting students in the classrooms and playgrounds. We are very excited to welcome Emily and Nicole in this position.
During this week our Year 6 students were finally congratulated with a thickshake for being the class with the highest attendance percentage for Term 2. We will be looking at the class with the highest attendance for the first half of this term next week... I wonder if there is a class that can achieve higher attendence rates than Year 6?
SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING: -
