NAIDOC WEEK ~ 2020 ~ 'Always Was, Always Will Be'
This week we celebrated NAIDOC week. Normally NAIDOC week is celebrated in July, but the date was moved due to COVID-19. This year's theme, 'Always Was, Always Will Be', recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and encourages appreciation of the wealth and breadth of Aboriginal Nations, languages and knowledges.
Although we haven't celebrated as a community this year we have spent this week being involved in many learning and fun activities around NAIDOC week and learning more about culture and our history.
Next week our Year 3/4 students will head out to Murrin Bridge Preschool to participate in some NAIDOC Activities with the children at the preschool. The Year 3/4 students will travel out on the school bus with Mrs Morris and Mrs Elwin.
