Classroom Update
Kindergarten
In Kinder we are focussing on building simple sentences using the tricky words we have learnt, as well as the letters and sounds we have now mastered! The students can identify the capital letters and full stops in our sentences and are doing an amazing job at forming their letters! We are also learning body percussion in music with 1/2 and having an absolute blast!
Year 1/2
1/2 have been working really hard in their Literacy lessons over the past 2 weeks. We have been learning about compound words, adjectives, verbs, and learning how to spell tricky words.
Year 3/4/5
We have been integrating Geography with Religion. Some of our artworks depict landscapes of areas where we belong or know. You might be able to see that we have included places like the lake and some artworks represent the farms we live on or near.
We are also beginning to learn about stewardship and how we are here to care for the world and each other. Pictures below of the future of the world is in our hands.
Year 6
In other Year 6 news preparation for speeches are well underway. Yibaay topic is 'A Difficult Journey'. This topic has allowed many of the Yibaay students to reflect on their Primary school journey, and identify the challenges they have had to face during those times. As we all know Yibaay students will be leaving us this year, and are keen to make new memories. However, the speech process has built up sadness in leaving friendships behind, joy and excitement in experiencing adolescent life, and a bit of anxiety of what to expect when enrolling into a new school. Over the past two weeks, Yibaay students have had the opportunity to experience a high-school setting. Thank you to Lake CCS for allowing us to join in various activities to support a smooth transition to high-school for all of our Yibaay students.
