Good to Great School Australia - Further Information for families.
Throughout this year and continuing to 2024, St Francis Xavier Primary School is partnering with Good to Great Schools Australia to deliver high quality learning programs with our students and to focus on School Improvement.
What is Good to Great School Australia?
Good to Great Schools are a not-for-profit organisation, who support schools and school systems on their improvement journey. With decades of experience, the Good to Great Schools organisation helps schools on their journey towards engagement and excellence in learning. The programs are backed by decades of research and are designed to meet the needs of children from early childhood through to secondary school as well as cater for a range of learning needs and abilities.
Key Concepts of Good to Great Schools Programs:
In Good to Great Schools programs, the learning is targeted for individual students and their needs in small groups at their level. Each student has the opportunity to build confidence, recognise their own successes and become masters in their learning. The learning also meets student needs through sequenced, consistent and repetitive concepts and skills.
NSW Health recently advised that they are starting to see a rise in COVID-19 transmissions within the community, with a peak of cases expected in early December. COVID-smart measures continue to be in place. These measures include:
- staying home if unwell and/or showing any symptoms
- using rapid antigen tests (RATs) when showing symptoms or exposed to COVID-19
- encouraging all students, staff, and families to keep up to date with their vaccinations, including COVID-19 booster shots if eligible
NSW Health are also encouraging everyone in the community to continue to register positive RATs with Service NSW to ensure they receive timely support and advice, including access to antivirals for those who are eligible.
Rapid antigen tests (RATs) - We have these at school for any families that would like to collect and use to support keeping our school community safe. Please call in and ask for some at the office. If you would like to collect some for the beginning of the 2023 school year, please collect these during the last week of the term.
Thank you for continuing to keep our community safe and healthy.
