During 2023 our educational focus will be to improve Literacy and Numeracy skills — staff, students and families working together so all our students achieve at least 12 months growth. Other goals for the year are:
Build a community that continues to learn - Implement system Literacy and Numeracy initiatives which will increase student assessment data.
Enhance and maintain the wellbeing of all - Continued increase of attendance rates and implementation of school-wide Well Being Policy.
Build a community that is connected - Increased promotion of the school Vision and Mission statements throughout the community and to continue to increase family attendance at school events.
St Francis Xavier School continues to be a place of hope, joy and wonder. Students and staff have worked hard setting expectations, creating learning environments and developing a strong sense of community and belonging.
The remainder of the term continues to be busy. We look forward to visits from the Life Education Van and the ZooMobile. We wish our Year 3 and Year 5 students the best of luck for NAPLAN. We look forward to hearing how our students participating in various sports trials demonstrate their school pride and great sportsmanship and we congratulate our teachers for continuing to support each child’s learning through all of these extras!
Special shout out to Ms Nicole (M, Tu, W) and Ms Rebecca (Th, F) who keep the school running from the office. Their knowledge, kindness, commitment and flexibility is what keeps us on track! They will be especially important over the next 8 weeks as Mrs Elwin takes some, much deserved, Long Service Leave. Mrs Morris will be acting in the principal role during this time.
Mrs Elwin, we hope your travels are filled with joy and wonder! May God watch over you and keep you safe on your journey.

Religious Life of School - Prayer
Lenten Prayer for Spiritual Renewal
God, heavenly Father, look upon me and hear my prayer during this holy Season of Lent.
By the good works You inspire, help me to discipline my body and to be renewed in spirit. Without You I can do nothing.
By Your Spirit help me to know what is right and to be eager in doing Your will. Teach me to find new life through penance.
Keep me from sin, and help me live by Your commandment of love.
God of love, bring me back to You.
Send Your Spirit to make me strong in faith and active in good works.
May my acts of penance bring me Your forgiveness, open my heart to Your love, and prepare me for the coming feast of the Resurrection of Jesus.
Lord, during this Lenten Season, nourish me with Your Word of life and make me one with You in love and prayer.
Fill my heart with Your love and keep me faithful to the Gospel of Christ.
Give me the grace to rise above my human weakness.
Give me new life by Your Sacraments, especially the Mass.
Father, our source of life, I reach out with joy to grasp Your hand;
let me walk more readily in Your ways. Guide me in Your gentle mercy, for left to myself I cannot do Your Will.
Father of love, source of all blessings, help me to pass from my old life of sin to the new life of grace.
Prepare me for the glory of Your Kingdom.
I ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.
Photographer - Catholic Education Office
On Monday, 13th of March a photographer from Catholic Education (CE) will be at our school taking photos to update advertising, CE's facebook page, website and will also be used in other promotional materials.
We encourage students to be in their correct summer uniform on the day.
Regular school attendance brings enormous benefits to students, their families, the school and the community as a whole. Without regular attendance, levels of learning suffer and opportunities are missed. Continued and persistent absence and lateness will affect a student's achievement and progress in school.
It is family's legal responsibility that your child attends school each day and is on time. Children with attendance less than 96% are identified as a concern if absences are unauthorised.
