During 2023 our educational focus will be to improve Literacy and Numeracy skills — staff, students and families working together so all our students achieve at least 12 months growth. Other goals for the year are:
Build a community that continues to learn - Implement system Literacy and Numeracy initiatives which will increase student assessment data.
Enhance and maintain the wellbeing of all - Continued increase of attendance rates and implementation of school-wide Well Being Policy.
Build a community that is connected - Increased promotion of the school Vision and Mission statements throughout the community and to continue to increase family attendance at school events.
Every day I am reminded of how privileged I am to be working at St Francis Xavier School.
Today the staff put on Morning Tea for me to celebrate the safe arrival of my new granddaughter, Lacey, all dressing in pink to acknowledge how very special she is to me and how important our families are to us all.
Yesterday during our Book Week celebrations, the characters our staff chose to dress up as were a collection of inspiring people including Rosa Park, Amelia Earhart and Dolly Parton, from the series ‘Little People, Big Dreams’. These characters and our teachers are inspirational!
This week in Canberra many members of the schools in our Archdiocese will be recognised through receiving 2023 CECG Faith in Learning Staff Excellence Awards. These awards recognise exceptional contributions to the mission of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Canberra Goulburn. We have 3 members of our school community receiving one of these awards this year. Congratulations to Miss Sharon and Miss Karli. We are very excited for you and very proud of all you contribute and continue to achieve within our school.
I am so very grateful for all each and every staff member does to support each and every one of our school community.
Due to Miss Corcoran's taking leave there are some changes to school staffing for the remainder of the term.
Mrs Rachael Morris will be the Kindergarten teacher, with continued support from Miss Ashlea Robertson and other staff members.
St Francis Xavier School staff work extremely effectively together as a team, and as such we will continue to all work together to support the learning needs and wellbeing needs of all our students.
We wish Miss Corcoran the very best and thank her for looking after herself and her family.
